I had a problem with the charger on the kit. Steve at Worldwide is going to send me a new one. No problems coulda' been my fault somehow. Anyways it got me thinking. Can I use a different charger and is there benefits of a more expensive charger? What's the max charging rate? Or what will the BMS really handle?

The charger with our 48v/10ah lifepo4 pack is an UL approved 2A charger, you could also use 4A charger if you could buy one in US, but at best with UL approval. 4A charger could shorten the charing time compared with 2A charger.

The battery BMS prevents the battery cells being over-charged or discharged, this is very important for a lifepo4 pack.

Once again thanks. Does it have to be a LiFePo specific charger? I'm looking at Soneil and BMI chargers. I notice the more expensive chargers go through cycles. Will that be a problem with the BMS? Or does it just need to be rated below 4 amps?
