Test Report on the 24V controller Part 2

On the Road
When I rode the bike on the paved road or trails, the performance of the controller is beyond my expectations. I use the bike to go to work or on trails just for fun. I have ridden the bike with Louis’s controller for about 100 miles so far. I would like to talk about the performance of the controller from the perspective of my own needs for an electric bike.

Pedal Assist ...

Test Report on the 24V controller Part 1

On the Bike Stand
I owe Louis this report for his kind support in helping me build a bike with electric brake. If you have seen some early threads of mine on this forum, then you know I was looking for a conversion kit that can climb the steep hills and slide down the same hills with confidence. In addition to that, I want a PAS that can make me feel as if I were ...

Can I use a different charger?

I had a problem with the charger on the kit. Steve at Worldwide is going to send me a new one. No problems coulda' been my fault somehow. Anyways it got me thinking. Can I use a different charger and is there benefits of a more expensive charger? What's the max charging rate? Or what will the BMS really handle?

Battery Questions??

So I've had the kit for a while and have been overall impressed with the battery performance. But it's time to expand my range. I'm already using my small trailer to go to the grocery store and such. I figure with another battery I can virtually replace my car for small errands. It seems Worldwide has been short on supply of spare batteries. I would like to order a battery from them. Do you offer ...

Can I use a cycle anylst on my bike?

Let me start by saying thank you for the wonderful product. I received the kit April 23(Earth day) this year. Steve at Worldwide Electrics has been most helpful. The kit came within a week and I was up and running within that day. I've spent money to improve and upgrade the bike but the kit has given me no problems.
I have about 700 miles on the bike now and have completed my shake down ...

PAS System

Louis,

Can you briefly describe your PAS system? I would like to know if it is a similar system to my electric bike, which I really enjoy.

My electric bike came with a thumb throttle. I took it off the handle bar later because there was no need for me to decide how much assistance I need from the motor. I leave the decision totally to the controller. All I need is pedaling and changing ...

Regen Brake

Hi Louis,

I open this new topic to better focus on the regen brake of your kit. What is the test result of the regen brake on your geared hub motor? If it does not work, do your team plan to make it work on a geared hub motor with no mechanically freewheeling mechanism or simply on a non-geared one. Thanks.

Climb the slope

Hi Fusin Tiger,

I own three electric bikes. Two are hubmotors made in China and one is crank-drive by Cyclone I imported from Taiwan. I use the crank drive one to climb a hill with average grade of 17% to go to work. The hub motor bike (60 lbs) with nominal power of 250 W simply is not powerful enough to carry me (170 lb) up the hill of about 0.6 miles long.

The problem ...
